Analysts

An equity analyst is someone who studies and analyzes financial information and trends for an organization or an industry, in this case for Noble Capital Markets (Noble). Analysts’ work typically includes reviewing of the annual statements (the balance sheet, the profit and loss statement, the cash flow statement, the notes to accounts, etc.), revenue figures and future projections, intelligence concerning key clients (channel checks… thus the name of this site), amount of debt the company is carrying, any legal liabilities, present market trends, the products or services presented by the firm and a forecast of the organization’s impending financial needs. They write reports on the organization’s fundamentals, finances and define, in their opinion, the business’s investment potential in terms of providing an assessment of return potential. Most analysts become specialists in the analysis of specific industry sectors thereby understanding the trends and nuances associated with the sector. Equity analysts must be licensed (Series 86/87) by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority or must be a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA).
