Equity Research Report College Challenge
Attention Students: Create a research report on any company listed on Channelchek and you could win up to $7,500 cash for tuition, land a paid internship, a video of the award presentation will run on the NASDAQ Tower in Times Square, and an all expense paid trip to Miami to attend NobleCon16 - a large-scale investor conference featuring 125 executive teams - to be held at the all-new, $2.3 billion Flagship Hard Rock Hotel & Casino!
The College Research Report Challenge (the “Contest”) - sponsored by Scripps, the people who bring you the National Spelling Bee, NASDAQ, Salem Media Group, Kelly Services and Tribune Publishing - is a competition based on research of small & microcap emerging-growth companies featured on Channelchek. Emerging-growth companies represent the best of American ingenuity, and generation Z represents the next generation of leaders. The Contest encourages our future heads of industry to explore, probe, and discover the companies that are poised for success, companies that are underfollowed, misunderstood, or undiscovered and may represent the cure for disease or the next disruptive technology.
Create an Equity Research Report
Equity research is at the heart of good decision making when selecting investible companies. The best research on Wall Street employs channel checks, which is why we call this portal Channelchek. With a channel check, a research analyst gathers information from all available sources, including the company’s distribution channels, to understand the company from the perspective of its customers.
So, start with Channelchek, choose any of the listed companies, and start digging for resources. You can tackle the Contest on your own or assemble a team of up to three members as long as they’re all registered students.
The winning report will follow the established Wall Street format, including the following components: Business Description, Headline & Front-Page Bullet Points (executive summary), Investment Appraisal, Industry Overview & Competitive Position, Financial Analysis, Management & Corporate Governance Overview, Stock Valuation, Risk Assessment, Market Rating, and Price Target.
A team of senior equity research analysts from Noble Capital Markets will determine the winner based on scoring of each report section. Judges are FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) certified Series 86, 87, and 7 analysts with industry accreditations including “Best on the Street” as determined by the Wall Street Journal Survey, Starmine ranked, and/or Institutional Investor (II) ranked. The analysts have an average of 27 years of equity markets experience.
The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, Canada and the Caribbean who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry, and who are current students of an institution of higher learning, four-year postsecondary educational institute, community college, vocational school, trade school or other career colleges that award academic degrees or professional certifications. Complete official rules and guidelines are available on the Contest Registration Page. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. Challenge One - Create an Equity Research Report
