Construction mobilized at Mo i Rana. On October 12, 2026, VivoPower announced the start of construction for the initial 40MW AI data center at its Mo i Rana facility in Norway. While a definitive lease agreement has not yet been announced, the company confirmed that it has selected a global AI industry leader as its preferred tenant, with the facility’s design and construction tailored to the prospective customer’s requirements.
Existing operations maintained during construction. VivoPower has engaged local contractors to complete site preparation and structural works ahead of the specialized mechanical and electrical fit-out. Under the original development plan, construction will proceed on adjacent land while existing Bitcoin mining and grid-balancing operations continue. After the mining lease expires in June 2027, the existing power capacity is earmarked for AI applications, with an additional 40MW development planned thereafter.
